Notes
Start at lower car park (gravel area outside entrance). Wind up Belview Terrace until just afer 2Km mark - near water tower. This is practically uphill all the way. Verge left onto the Link Track for about 300m then head sharp left down the Lyrebird Track. This section is virtually 1 Km straight down (watch your footing). There are about 13 "speed humps" on the way down. At the bottom swing hard right up the Kokoda Trail towards the famous 1000 steps. Climbing the steps, continue to the top where you will find a welcoming bench seat. Beware the steps are slippery and running is not allowed (although I usually go when there are few people there. With burning legs, head back the same way you came, this time with 2 down hill sections and one mother of a climb. Thanks to my running buddy Kris for showing me this run. Close to 10 Km all up but if you can run this under an hour, you will be doing very well. Kris and I used this as a lead up to the Puffing Billy Race.
